Description: This experience study, from the Society of Actuaries [SOA] ‘Experience Studies – Individual Life,’ was conducted by the SOA’s Individual Life Insurance Experience Committee. This report is on intercompany mortality experience by amount of insurance under standard individually underwritten issues between 1990 and 1991 anniversaries. The report also combines experience between 1986 and 1991 anniversaries in order to provide a larger volume of data. This report is a revision of an earlier publication of the ‘Mortality under Standard Individually Underwritten Life Insurance Between 1990 and 1991 Anniversaries.’ This revision corrects previous mortality ratios for all 1986-91 and 1985-90 experience and 1990-91 smoker/nonsmoker experience. Description: This experience study, from the Society of Actuaries [SOA] ‘Experience Studies – Individual Life,’ was conducted by the SOA’s Individual Life Insurance Experience Committee. This report is on intercompany mortality experience by amount of insurance under standard individually underwritten issues, including policy years 2002–04. In addition to the report is a one page document, the ‘Milliman extension to the 1975–80 Basic Tables,’ with an accompanying Excel spreadsheet. Also included are two Excel workbooks containing pivot tables, providing more detail of the data summarized in the report.

Description: This is the fourth Intercompany Study of Long–Term Care Insurance. This report combines and analyzes data received from 24 insurers that agreed to provide information to further the knowledge of long–term care insurance. Data has been collected on policies issued from January 1, 1984 through December 31, 2001.

Description: This report presents the results of the most recent study of individual life insurance lapse experience in the United States. The observation period for the study is calendar years 2003 and 2004. The study is based on data provided by 43 individual life insurance writers and it presents lapse experience between 1902 and 2004.

Description: This database and analysis, from the Society of Actuaries [SOA] ‘Experience Studies – Group Health,’ was prepared by the SOA Medical Large Claims Experience Committee, SOA Committee on Health Benefit Systems Research and the SOA Health Section. The database is a follow-up to the 1991–92 Group Medical Large Claims Database. The study explores and analyzes factors affecting incidence rates and the distribution of claim sizes. The database contains claims from three years: 1997, 1998 and 1999. While the 1991–1992 database focused only “large claims” i.e., claimants with annual paid charges of at least $25,000, the 1997–1999 database contains all claimants, regardless of charge amount. Data from seven insurers are represented. For the three years combined, the database contains 4,294,030 claimants and total paid charges of approximately $7.1 billion. In addition to the report there is 2 page database documentation and four zipped data files.

Description: This report, part of the Society of Actuaries [SOA] ‘Experience Studies – Business Practice Surveys,’ presents the results of the survey conducted by the SOA Committee on Life Insurance Mortality and Underwriting Surveys - Preferred Underwriting Survey Subcommittee. This survey asked for preferred risk underwriting practices as of July 2002. This is the third such survey completed by the Society of Actuaries. The intent of this survey was to gather information on the many variations in preferred risk underwriting.
