Description: Twice a year the Intersector Group meets with representatives of the U.S. Department of Treasury (Treasury Department) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to dialogue with them on regulatory and other issues affecting pension practice. Description: A comment letter to policymakers produced jointly by the SOA and AAA presents findings from their actuarial analysis of the proposed CLASS Act. The analysis indicates that the proposed structure and funding approaches will be unsustainable, and will cover only a very small proportion of the intended population. The opt-out and guaranteed issue provisions of the plan pose a risk that soon the program will either need increased premiums and/or significant reductions.

Description: The Preferred Mortality Valuation Table Team prepared this presentation for the June 2008 NAIC LHATF Meeting. The Adobe Acrobat file on the SOA website for experience studies contains the presentation.This Excel workbook is a tool the valuation table team is using to develop values relating to margins for the new valuation mortality table. The purpose of the workbook is to evaluate different margin formulas and valuation tables. Also used for analysis of mortality margins on Valuation Basic Tables.
