Background

Since 2021, an India Task Force has served as an advisory group supporting and guiding the Society of Actuaries’ (SOA’s) efforts in India. After four years of the advisory group working within a task force framework, the SOA International Committee has determined that the SOA should transition the India Task Force into a formally structured India Committee, governed by its formal charter under the overall aegis of the SOA. This will bring the strategic oversight for India into alignment with the formal international strategy of the SOA. Oversight for the regional committee resides with the International Council within SOA. As such, the India Committee will provide input to the International Council on strategy for local growth and engagement in India. Additionally, the India Committee will provide oversight and volunteer efforts to the implementation of the SOA strategy in India.
