Community Structure

Seven new SOA Communities will integrate and enhance existing sections advisory committees, subgroup opportunities, and dedicated resources to support engagement and professional growth.

We recognize the global actuarial profession encompasses many specialized areas. In Communities, you will have the flexibility to facilitate or take part in discussions on topics or geographical areas that are relevant to your work and personal interests through newly created Subgroups.

Additionally, all Communities will have access to liaisons with the SOA Professional Development Committee and regional committees. Find out more about the Community Governance structure, including new ways for you to volunteer now through elected positions and non-elected volunteer positions beginning in fall 2025.

The Value of Communities

With Communities, you can gain direct access to subject matter expertise and new ways to engage with industry advancements. Communities are designed to be collaborative, cultivating environments where members from diverse backgrounds and professional experiences can come together to share ideas, exchange knowledge, and work towards common goals.
